74th Centomiglia

It starts on Friday with the Cento Junior, and younger children are also involved in the event to put them in touch with sailing that they can practice once they are older.
On September 6-7, two regattas will be organized for Optimists and under-18 youth dinghies in the waters off Bogliaco and Gargnano. Followed by awards ceremony and party in the square in Bogliaco and at the Sailing Club.

Saturday, September 7 is dedicated to the Bettoni Trophy.
Departure at 8:30 a.m. from Bogliaco, short upwind disengagement to Gargnano and then descent to Desenzano with return to Bogliaco.

The next day, Sunday 8, is the Gorla Trophy.
Departure at 8:30 a.m. from Bogliaco and traditional route north to Limone Hotel Eala near Cape Reamol and, on the way back, through Acquafresca to the arrival in Bogliaco.
Upon the arrival of the racers, the Club will be ready to welcome them with a small village dedicated to sailors to eat and drink in company while waiting for the awards ceremony and evening of celebration.
After the time limit expires, the awards ceremony will be held and the crews will be bid farewell with an appointment for 2024.

What about the Centomiglia?
The winner of the Centomiglia will be the monohull or multihull first in real time at the finish line resulting from the combined ranking (Gorla Trophy + Bettoni Trophy)

The immediate advantages of the new edition are the aforementioned merging of the two weekends which will allow, especially for foreigners, to better organize the trip to Gargnano, the possibility for all boats, even the smallest ones, to finish the races in a reduced time while still covering the entire round of the Lake in two days as per tradition.

The regatta will also be more appealing to boats with foils and those with less sail because the windless phases should be reduced.

Gorla

The Gorla Trophy, dedicated to the memory of Riccardo Gorla, awards the boat that stands out for speed and skill in the half-length (upper lake) course.

Bettoni

The Bettoni Trophy, honors the tradition and historical value of the competition by awarding the boat that stands out for speed and skill in the half-length (lower lake) course.

Cento People

Participating without ranking, but with a “non-competitive” order of arrival will be the sailors of the Cento People, a white-sailing sailboat, with a shortened route that will see the free participation of many passionate “non-competitive” sailors, families and non-profit associations that use sailing as a bonding and therapeutic moment.

Cento Junior

It is the Centomiglia in miniature dedicated to the youngest (Optimist and dinghies under 18), to put them in touch with the sailing they will be able to practice once they are older.
The initiative is aimed at spreading sports culture, values of fairness and healthy competition among young people.
