The 75th International Centomiglia Internazionale del Garda will be held this year on the dates of September 6/7, 2025: the Gargnano Trophy will be run on September 6, and the R. Gorla.
The new format of the historic regatta, now in its 75th edition this year, evolves, combining its heritage with innovation to involve an increasing number of sailors and enthusiasts. Boats racing under ORC rules-which calculate compensations based on the characteristics of each boat-will be the real stars, making the competition more accessible and exciting. The compensated time system will allow crews of all levels and with different boats to compete in a regatta that rewards skill and strategy, not just pure speed.
The winner of the Bettoni Trophy, and thus of the 75th Centomiglia, will be the first in the ORC Overall classification, while the first on the line in real time will be the winner of the Line Honour.
Recognition at the Line of Honour, awarded to the first finishers in real time, will remain a distinctive element of the competition. The goal will be to make the Centomiglia an increasingly inclusive event, where everyone can fully enjoy the unique experience of sailing the waters of Lake Garda, without feeling excluded from the competition from the start. Double Handed ranking will also be introduced, as in the great international classics, to provide an opportunity for challenge an
Recognition at the “Line of Honour,” awarded to the first real time finishers, will remain a distinctive element of the competition. The goal will be to make the Centomiglia an increasingly inclusive event, where everyone can fully enjoy the unique experience of sailing the waters of Lake Garda, without feeling excluded from the competition from the start. Double Handed classification will also be introduced, as in the great international classics, to provide an opportunity for reduced crews to challenge. Alongside the Centomiglia will be run on the same dates the Multicento, a regatta reserved for multihulls.
The Gargnano Trophy will be raced on September 6. The boats, after turning the disengagement buoy in Gargnano, will head south to the lower part of the lake, with a course buoy in Desenzano and back. The following day, Sunday, Sept. 7, will see the 59th Gorla Trophy, which will see the boats sail from Bogliaco to upper Benàco, with course buoys at Capo Reamol – Limone del Garda (BS), to reach the buoy positioned in Garda Trentino, descend to Acquafresca/Brenzone (VR), on the Veneto shore, and return to Bogliaco. The sum of the score of the two races will determine the final ranking of Centomiglia number 75.
The Gargnano Trophy, honors the tradition and historical value of the competition by awarding the boat that stands out for speed and skill in the half-length (lower lake) course.
The Gorla Trophy, dedicated to the memory of Riccardo Gorla, awards the boat that stands out for speed and skill in the half-length (upper lake) course.
Participating without ranking, but with a “non-competitive” order of arrival will be the sailors of the Cento People, a white-sailing sailboat, with a shortened route that will see the free participation of many passionate “non-competitive” sailors, families and non-profit associations that use sailing as a bonding and therapeutic moment.
The Multicento will be held in conjunction with the 75th Centomiglia along the same courses: all multihulls over 18 feet in length with at least 2 crew members may participate. On Saturday evening there will be an evening party in the square in Bogliaco while the awards ceremony will be held on Sunday afternoon.
It is the Centomiglia in miniature dedicated to the youngest (Optimist and dinghies under 18), to put them in touch with the sailing they will be able to practice once they are older.
The initiative is aimed at spreading sports culture, values of fairness and healthy competition among young people.
Saturday the 6th, here is the Gargnano Trophy. Departure at 8:30 a.m. from Bogliaco and traditional route to the finish in Bogliaco.
Sunday the 7th, here is the Gorla Trophy. Departure at 8:30 a.m. from Bogliaco and traditional route north to Limone Hotel Eala near Cape Reamol and, on the way back, through Acquafresca to the finish in Bogliaco.
